Own Rental property by selecting school location

Last week the Wall Street Journal ran a cover story "Big money gets into Landlord Game" Aug 4, 2011. This is about big players getting in to owning rental properties.

Here is what I know. The combination of low interest rates and falling prices on residential property have made owning housing more affordable than any time in the past 15 years. The Fed just today told markets interest rates will stay low, but time to stand on your own.

Now for those of you who can BUY. First be thankful. Not everyone Can. This is your opportunity.

People need to live some where and great tenants are out available. If you can pay cash or qualify for financing (there are good financing options out there) then buy where the best schools are for a given area.

Recently we helped two clients buy two small town homes in Mount Pleasant Academy / Moultrie Middle area. Both units were rented for above expected rent prior to closing ! We have done the same thing in Columbia with Polo Elementary.
