2. LEAKS - Look both inside and outside of the home for signs of water damage which may spell out disaster.
3. ROOF - Does it look new? Does it look like it will need to be replaced after just a year or two?
4. PLUMBING - Inspect the restrooms, kitchen, etc. Make note of anything that looks out of place.
5. HEATING AND COOLING - Are you comfortable? Pay attention to the climate both Inside and Outside of the home.
6. APPLIANCES - If it is not a new home, how old do the stove, dishwasher, etc. look? If it is a new home, pay attention to the manufacturer to check for warranties, ratings, etc.
7. ELECTRICAL - This may seem obvious, but most people see a home during daylight hours. Turn on the lights. Check for malfunctioning fixtures.
8. LOT - Are you close by neighbors? How do they seem to keep up with their yard, noise, etc. Your surroundings can play a major role in whether your new house becomes your dream home.
9. EXTERIOR - Does it seem like the area has been well maintained? How will you maintain it? Take into consideration future costs.
10. INTERIOR - Do you like the walls? Are there objects blocking places that are unusual? Pay attention to small details so that there are no surprises later on.
