Born and raised in Dayton, Ohio, I moved here in late October 1997. Immediately of moving I went to Myrtle Beach, SC to The Fortune School of Real Estate. Within just a few weeks I had passed the Required educator, and testing and had obtained my Real Estate license.
I have been actively involved full time in the business since then. During the past ten years I have become a multiple time qualifier and member for both East Cooper Top Producers and a multiple time Charleston Realtor of Distinction.
I graduated college from Ohio University (not ohio state) see www.ohio.edu in 1990 and have a degree in business and communications. After college, I spent the next seven years in commercial /sales primarily in Cincinnati, Ohio - First as a distributor rep for Pennzoil lubricants.
Afterwards I spent 3 plus years in Industrial water treatment - very very very technical sales. I had the opportunity to go anywhere I wanted, but I knew I wanted out of Ohio. I decided it was time to work for myself - sink or swim - and cut the corporate cord. I have been self employed ever since.
I have always wanted to live here. My family vacationed between Myrtle Beach and Hilton Head many summers while growing up in Ohio. I spent my first full year in Real Estate with (at the time) Charleston's only timeshare company. I later came to 824 Johnnie Dodds in Mt. Pleasant, SC in the beginning of 1999 and remain here today.
At the time, I was working for Remax Realty Services, Inc. In 2003, Agent Owned Realty bought the building and some of the agents. I was one of the agents, Agent Owned Realty, Co. bought with the building.
Real Estate is real, tangible, useful, valuable, visible etc. People can go see it, walk on it build on it, plant on it, dig on it, etc. A career in real estate makes more sense here for me than other places.
I quit my job to move here and make it - one way or the other - a real estate license has been my vehicle. I enjoy immensely the feeling of trust (and earned respect ) that comes with doing right by your client(s) in a real estate transaction.
Further the referrals (my main source of new clients) from existing clients is a very satisfying way to grow. Buyer agency in particular is very rewarding. In that I have a client I am helping, counseling, to make the best decision for them in that transaction. A buyer agent working for a client does not care which property the client buys - only that client gets the best property for their current goals and objectives.
Working for sellers is rewarding in the seller seeing the value of a trained professional making sure the sale goes as best as possible with the minimum of stress form the seller. A seller needs an agent they can count on. Sometimes it is hard to tell a seller up front a sale price and a strategy the MAY not not be what they want to hear. BUT I have learned that sellers appreciate consistency and competence.
I am both an agent and a licensed broker. Please check back to my site frequently as I will be updating it periodically to better serve your needs! I look forward to the opportunity to work with you and hope my site helps you in your Real Estate endeavors!
